Standing naked in the shower
I look down at the body
that I seem to have
just met.
_
Hello love, I whisper.
_
I gently stroke the skin
that wraps the swell
of my breast,
like a gift I give to myself
each day.
_
The words from last night
ring in my head:
embarrassing.
We question your morals.
_
With a soft sigh
I turn my face into the water
and allow the spray
to wash those words away
with soapy suds
and they slip
effortlessly
down
the
drain.
_
My thighs meet
the splay of my bottom
and my roundness
drips
with the satisfaction
of goodbye.
